Mastering the Call to Action

Digital Advertising Melbourne

Digital Advertising in Melbourne means nothing if you don't understand how to use your Call to Actions or (CTA's), because a Call to action can be the easiest way for you to create a lead. It can make or break depending on how weak or strong your CTA is, and so I wish to give you a few tips to make sure that you are doing the best you can to grow your brand and develop those all-important leads.

Wording

Really simple, stay clear from commonly used words that are going to make you seem desperate or like you are pushing for a sale. For example, choosing between the words, 'buy' and 'shop' as a CTA, one might feel that they both mean the same thing. But you should understand that lots of people on the internet often avoid commitment, therefore subconsciously even there is a tendency for consumers to think that the phrase 'buy' is closing them into something, while 'shop' is a way for them to discover more details. The issue I am aiming to make is that you really should consider the wording and avoid words that have unforeseen implications.

Shape and Colour

It may seem odd, but Shape and colour of your CTA can affect its effectiveness. In the world of Digital Advertising there have been a lot of investigations into the notion of style and its affect upon a customer's perception, and essentially one theory claims that curves are the most reliable way to go. So, if you wish to try and optimise even further, think about making the button for your call to action curved, rather than a rectangle.

Now, colour, this is yet another area that there are a few theories on. Some people would have you think that green is wonderful because it indicates 'go', but to stay clear of red because it is 'stop', or that blue is calming so it should make customers more relaxed ... Eventually there really isn't any definitive evidence to suggest one option over every other, so just choose what works best for your concept. One point that I will discuss though is that you should know the font size and colour-- If you want your digital advertising to be most effective in the Melbourne area, it is a good idea to try and keep it different from the rest of your content, but don't go too wild.

Location

Where your call to action is placed is quite vital to digital advertising results.

All that I mean by this is ensure that you don't have it tucked away behind-the-scenes somewhere, or that you have way too much text that is complicating the Call to action.

Ultimately it all comes down to identifying the combination that works for you, remember your wording, shape, colour, size and positioning of your brand's Call To Action, and when you bring all the elements together just think easy and think about your consumer.
